Corona virus and heart

The infection with the coronavirus COVID-19 is a disease of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. The infection occurs primarily via the mucous membranes in the facial area (eyes, nose, mouth) and from there quickly penetrates into the alveolar space of the lungs. The infection comes about when the virus binds to the ACE2 receptor, which normally has a protective function for the cardiovascular system. The viral infection weakens this system. In anthroposophic medicine it is called the rhythmic system. This system has a central regulating and balancing role in the human organism, between the head-centered nervous-sense system, which is close to our consciousness, on the one hand, and the metabolic-limb system, which is centered below the diaphragm, on the other.

In the course Eurythmy therapy exercises to strengthen resilience from spring 2020 you will find detailed instructions for five eurythmy therapy exercises, which make the rhythmic system more resistant and strengthen the elasticity of the immune system.
